Finally, Montreal celebrates its first ever Fashion's Night Out (FNO)! Last night fashionistas, bloggers, photographers, and two savvy entrepreneurs (The Backroom Girls) made their way to Montreal's Old Port excited to take part in the city's first FNO. For those of you unfamiliar with the idea of Fashion's night out, it was a concept cooked up by none other than Vogue's Editor in Chief, Anna Wintour. The idea: Encourage consumers to get out and shop in support of the fashion industry, while also offering visibility for new emerging boutiques. FNO made its debut in New York City in 2009, and caught on instantly; the event now takes place in several Countries throughout the world.
Some of the stores that took part in last night's MFNO were REBORN, DENIS GAGNON, SSENSE, QUAI 417, and ROONEY...just to name a few. While we've visited most of these boutiques before, QUAI 417 proved to be our hot find of the evening, offering a variety of designer garments from Canada's own, to Japan to Belgium. Adding to our shopping experience, the very knowledgable sales representative, Stephanie, gave us an education on the products they carry and gushed with us over many of the pieces from the AF Vandevorst collection.
Overall, we just love the idea of bringing Fashion's Night Out to Montreal. Who are we kidding? Any excuse to dress up outside the box and shop seems like a great idea. Add in a few glasses of wine and cheese...hell, sounds like my Fridays!
